Welcome, I am Alexa Warner, I am a GHR and CNHC approved Hypnotherapist, Life Coach, and Counsellor with additional training in Cognitive Behaviour Hypnotherapy and Mindfulness based Cognitive Therapy, NLP and Thought Pattern Management and even Laughter Yoga!

I offer help for many issues in particular, anxiety, depression, stress, the management of chronic pain and illness including PTSD and IBS, confidence issues, relationship difficulties, overcoming negative behaviours such as alcohol use, anger etc.

Not only are the techniques I use science and evidence based but I believe the combination of methods I use provide a unique service, with over 95% of my clients succeeding in what they came to me wanting to achieve. If you keep doing what you have always done you will get what you've always got.

To make you feel better we have to change something, so to to this I follow a cognitive behavioural method. This will help you to understand not only why you are feeling the way you are, or doing what you are doing, but also how your current issues are maintained through your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and what sets them off in the first place.

​Don't worry the first things we do are to give you all the good feelings and beliefs you need, to give you a much better alternative to what you have been getting. You can't just get rid of something that your brain thinks is necessary for survival, you have to teach it a better alternative first.

We then learn to create exits from this cycle eg. if you get anxious your body will become tense and your breath tight and shallow, so to exit the cycle here, simple relaxation and breathing techniques can be used. There are abundance of techniques I have to create positive feelings, that will enable you to exit the negative ones as well as others to address the reasons why they occurred in the first place.

Hypnotherapy is a very valuable tool in this as our emotions are often more powerful than rational thinking, and our feelings have a very strong influence on our thoughts and behaviours. Hypnotherapy gives us a fast and effective tool to change the way we feel physically and emotionally. Hey it can even be used for anaesthetic purposes (do not try this at home!) 

We go at your pace and it will make a lot of sense when we get going​.

A client's description of her hypnotherapy experience:

A friend was unsure about hypnotherapy because she didn't want to made to do things by another person. I explained: It is not possible for a hypnotherapist to make you do anything you don't want to do. You always remain in control. Hypnotherapy is like a deep state of relaxation, it's similar to the feeling you get when you are dropping off to sleep when you can still hear everything going on around you. It's almost as if you are floating, weightless but if you want to you could get up and walk away

Help for couples and families;

When working on relationships it is usual to see one or both of the clients individually as well as in a couple as it is often the individuals issues brought into a relationship eg. past history, lack of confidence, jealousy etc that are adding to or creating the friction. Learning a new way of communication of course is also essential.

Help for teenagers and students;

75% of mental illness begins before the age of 18, I know the anxiety that hindered me right up until my 40's began at a very early age, I wish someone had told me then what I know now.

It is for this reason I run workshops in schools as well as at my practice, helping teenagers and even younger to gain an understanding of what is happening and why when they feel anxious, depressed or emotionally out of control. They also learn most importantly how to regain that control, to feel calmer and happier in all situations.

Most clients start with a 2 hour intensive to enable us to get a full history, to understand their past and the causes of their difficulties and what emotions they are experiencing in their current situation, but it also gives enough time to get on with moving forward.

A 2 Hour intensive session is Currently on offer at £70
